2nd year in a row that the team has won the premiership.

The team led by Tim Vail remained victorious all season. The last match v Fair Oak was the tightest going down to the wire in the final match. First on was Len Westover v Matt Merriman. First game Len stormed into a lead with some ferocious shots which caught Matt off guard. Then Matt levelled to make it 1-1. Len was up on his game again taking the ball early and cracking it into the nick and took it 3-1. 1-0 to Lee.

On the adjacent court was Tim Vail v Kyle Finch (master v pupil). Kyle is ranked in the top 150 in the world whereas Tim is top 20 in the country. There was some good length hitting to start with but anything loose was put away by Tim with aplomb. Kyle managed to get in front a few times and caught Tim out with some deft touches and the front. 11-8 to Tim. Tim raced into a 5-1 lead in the second only for Kyle to level and go ahead with some quick hold hard cross courts, however Tim came back helped by some uncharacteristic errors by Kyle. It went to the tie break but Tim prevailed 12-10. The third followed exactly the same pattern. 3-0 to Tim and 2-0 to Lee.

Brandon at 2nd string faced an in form Tom Walsh. Tom's pace and speed was too much for Brandon as he swept him aside 3-0. 2-1 Lee

Lucas Hughes at 3rd string had a battle against Phil Bull. Phil took the first 11-4 and was up 9-3 in the 2nd. Lucas suddenly found a better length and became more aggressive on the ball, fighting his way back to 10-10 and managed to sneak it 14-12. Momentum was in his favour and continued in the same form in the third. Phil wasn't done and some good delay in his shots wrong footed Lucas and sent it to a fifth. Phil kept up with the holds and Lucas forced a couple of shots into the tin for Phil to take it 3-2. 2-2

All down to the last match at 4th Ben Hutton v George Stafford. Ben looked comfy to start with and dispatched any loose balls to take a 2-0 lead. George fought back well and picked up al Ben's good shots to take it to a decider. Ben started strongly and took a good lead but George even after 2 dives in a row couldn't quite get close enough as Ben won the match 3-2 for the club.
