The first event off the LOST Golf Society saw blue skies and sunshine at Skylarks GC on Thursday 13th April.
A team event was arranged to ensure all had a chance to contribute and two groups emerged from a large field with tales of putts holed on greens as tricky as Augusta, drives from the tees lower than Bryson DeChambeau and a short game as finely honed as that of the great Tiger Woods. As the bragging came to a close, the final result was declared: Team “ParTee” drew with Team “Hack Attack” each amassing 80 Stableford points from the best 2 net scores per hole. Meanwhile, Jim’s longest drive on the 10th of 12 miles is unlikely to be surpassed, as he was unfortunately called away mid match. Shot of the day is still being contested in the bar, with each tale becoming more miraculoius with every pint consumed!
Clearly there is more great golf to come. The NEXT EVENT will be SUNDAY 22nd MAY at Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club meeting from 1pm when the format will be arranged over a coffee and bacon roll. Cost a mere £35 which for weekend golf at a top local club is an unbeatable price. Members of Lee GC will receive a discount (no green fee).
